Working on the musical production of Freaky Friday for Centre Stage Inc. was an exciting journey that allowed me to showcase my creativity across multiple platforms. From the outset, I knew this project required a dynamic and engaging approach to capture the humor and heart of the story.
Creating the Program
The first step in this project was designing the program. To get a clear picture of the vision, I collaborated with the director, discussing the key themes and highlights they wanted to emphasize. Freaky Friday, with its spirited and humorous storyline, needed a program that could capture its essence. I created a dynamic and colorful layout, with each page designed to radiate the show’s energetic vibe, ensuring that the audience would feel the excitement right from the first glance.
Creating Advertising Materials
With the program in progress, my next focus was on creating engaging social media posts, captivating videos, and a unique shirt design to build anticipation and buzz around the production.
- Social Media Posts and Videos: Social media was a key component of our promotional strategy. I crafted a series of engaging posts that included character spotlights, rehearsal sneak peeks, and fun countdown graphics. These posts were designed to reflect the energetic and humorous nature of Freaky Friday. Additionally, I produced short teaser videos featuring highlights from rehearsals and behind-the-scenes moments, capturing the excitement and charm of the cast in action. These videos were designed to captivate and entice the audience, creating a sense of anticipation and eagerness for the show. We also ran targeted ads to reach families, teenagers, and local theater enthusiasts, ensuring that our content reached the right audience.
- Shirt Design: In addition to the social media campaign, I designed a special shirt for the production. The shirt featured bold, playful graphics and key elements from the show, making it a perfect keepsake for cast members and fans alike. The design was created to be both stylish and reflective of the show’s vibrant spirit, ensuring it would be a hit with everyone involved.
The Final Result
As the show dates approached, the advertising campaign was in full swing. The community was buzzing with anticipation, thanks in part to the vibrant and engaging materials we had put out. On opening night, the venue was packed, and it was incredibly rewarding to see all the hard work come to life. The program was a hit, the banners and flyers had drawn in crowds, and the social media posts had created a real sense of excitement and community involvement.
This project was a true testament to the power of integrated creative efforts, from design and photography to advertising and social media. It was an honor to contribute to the success of High School Musical Jr. and to see the joy and excitement it brought to the young actors and the audience.
